Hey guys,

Just wondering if the Automatic trans mount will work with the 282? I don't think it does, but can somebody let me know for sure! Thanks.

nope. the 4T60 uses a completely different mount and it uses a big metal bracket between the mount itself and the sub frame. the Getrag 282 uses a mount somewhat similar the the 4T60 mount, but the bolts go through in a different direction to attatch it to the trans case.

W-body Getrag 282 mount:

the two studs coming out of the mount protrude down through the sub frame. two longer bolts go through the holes and attatch it to the trans case.

should be available from a parts store like NAPA/Checker/Advance/Autozone i would think. if not then the GM dealer should definately have one. i only have one extra....and i'm afraid i'll need it since i've been driving around with bad dogbones and a really bad bucking problem for awhile now. i hope i didn't damage the tranny mount or the lower motor mount driving around like that :(

Just get new dogbones, dude.. they're like $6 at most auto parts stores..

Unless you have that strange manual-transmission driver-side 3-way mount.

For some reason mine doesn't have the 3-way mount but I have the 3-way mounting bracket.

Does Michael make 3-way dogbones?

EDIT: If I have time I'm going to run to the dealer and see if I can get that mount.

i wouldn't bother with the GM 3-point dogbone. i'm sure the FFP dogbones provide wayyyy more support. i don't think FFP makes a 3-point dogbone? i'm not sure but i bet the billet 2-point is more than enough.

man i hope my FFP bones show up today. i also just dropped the Cutty off at the exhaust shop to get the 230,000 mile GM OEM muffler chopped off in favor of a straight through glass pack that iBuiltMine gave me the other day

Tony...what mount? the one me and Jay are looking for???? or the 3 point dogbone???

I don't think the 284's got a 3-way mount. They have a bracket that attaches up to the dogbone bolt itself.

No the 282 mount, I'm going to see if I can get a part number for it, and prove if it is truly discountinued.

No they didn't get the 3-way DB, and not all of them have that bracket my old Z34 didn't and this one doesn't either.
