Supreme Cutlass
What does that smell point to? Does it mean that I just need new fluid/filter and a flush? or does it mean I have deeper problems? It still shifts smoother than my 98 honda. Redwingvksm
How many miles? I'd just change the fluid (ALL OF IT - use the fluid exchanger at one of your local shops) and watch it from there. All oils will burn even when everything is 100%. THe_DeTAiL3R
What's the current mileage and when was it last serviced? It''s normal that our trannies run hot, so the fluid might be dark red or brownish (or fucking black like mine). Chances are you'll be fine if you just go and get it flushed. Supreme Cutlass
about 156xxx miles, the fluid is brownish red, so it looks like it's going to make a trip to the shop next paycheck.
Canada
Has the trans EVER been serviced? You might want to invest in a pan drop/filter inspection as well.
Supreme Cutlass
No, I don't think it's ever been serviced, So, should I not drive it until I get it changed out?
Canada
Nah......if somethings broke, it will fail either way. Oh.....whomever you take the car too (I would recommend anyone that offer's Wynn's service.) be sure they do NOT use the additive treatments or flush treatments.
