jragsdale262
In park the car sounds terrible until 2500 rpms, then sounds normal all the way up through the rpm range. A couple of my friends think its lost compression (240k miles on engine). Replaced plugs / wires already. Went to 10W 40 oil to try and compensate. Any other ideas? Turbocharged400sbc
The older 2.8 and 3.1 engines are known for dead/nearly dead injectors... Pull the upper plenum off and ohm out the injectors...you should see all of them at or near 13-16 ohms...I've seen bad ones short out (0 ohms) or damn near open (20K+ ohms) compression loss is also a possibility, and easy to test for... good luck Regards, James
