no1kicker
GM part #'s 10434872 and 10434873. Tubular braces as compared to our flat ones, I assume they bolt right up. I checked gmpartsdirect but they're not listed. Supposedly for $20, they make a small difference in stiffness / handling. Anyone have some more info? mihela816
I noticed these units on my parent's new LaCrosse. I was wondering myself, but haven't taken measurements.
pwmin
doubt they'll help, and they are ugly, imo.
mihela816
So are the stamped steel units. And I agree, an STB helps far more.
no1kicker
I don't really care how they look, I thought they might help a little. Maybe give more support in case of front impact. I'm getting the GM handling kit soon so I'm trying to figure out whether to get these as well. :?:
GnatGoSplat
Should fit yours, but won't fit a gen 1 for any gen 1 owners that are wondering. Actually I think one of the braces would fit a gen 1, but not the other side. I'm not sure how much they can help, I thought the ones I saw had a crimped/flattened part in the middle. These cars actually do not crush enough in a front impact... a bit too much energy transmitted to the safety cage from what I've seen in crash tests.
