fastamp;furious Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Are rev limiters standaed on this car? If i open it up from idle in neautral it cuts out at 4000 rpm. also the rough idle and miss seem to be in the 750-1000 rpm range then it smooths out. in earlier post i described a clogged cat issue. could the map sensor be the cause of the miss and clogged cat????. when I tested the map, the voltage , key on , engine not running , it was 3.8 volts(within specs) but when i started it up it was suppose to increase by 1.5 volts .it didnt... and when i went wot it was suppose to increase to apox 4.5 volts , it actually dropped to about 1 volt. and if i have a bad o2 sensor or map or clogged cat shouldnt it be throwing codes? chadz34 Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Yeah they have a limiter. I'm shocked no one answered this question hahaha. Quote
TeeJay3800 Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 They have a 4,000 rev limiter in Neutral, but nothing in Park. Quote
jeremy Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 They have a 4,000 rev limiter in Neutral, but nothing in Park. IIRC: all of my w-bodys had a limiter in Park too .....you can have a bad or clogged cat with no codes Quote
Kalgorn Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 They have a 4,000 rev limiter in Neutral, but nothing in Park. Wrong. The limiter is in park AND neutral. Z34s have a limiter at 3000. Quote
Vegeta Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Older cars (90 and back) didn't have rev limiters, and manuals don't have a limiter either (at least not till redline in some cases). THere is an in gear limiter, and a p/n limiter. Quote
TeeJay3800 Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 I didn't think I was wrong. I know I have revved mine past 4,000 in Park. Quote
Regal_GS_1989 Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 My 89 has a Park/Neutral Rev limiter :? Quote
