The Burning Rom
Parts car? Heck no! It's a monster. I bought it! Work began almost immediately! The Burning Rom 8)
Lee
I wish I'd had money too. I know friends in Oshkosh, it would have been easy to get it there to work on. Hope you'll post pics of it cleaned up and in progress. Let us know if it runs. It seemed so dumb that he said he didn't know if it ran cause no keys. How is it a monster? Runs and mean, or monster labor to repair? Lee
The Burning Rom
How is it a monster? Runs and mean, or monster labor to repair? Lee Well..a little of both She'll do 85 without breaking a sweat. They posted that they didn't know if it ran because they in fact didn't have keys. We had one made at a local dealer before we went down to Milwaukee (300 miles), but it wouldn't go into the lock. We ended up breaking it off in the lock..and then punching the lock out with a hammer and chisel. See this pic: http://www.neonix.org/nero/ignition1.jpg Had we known it was easier to take the steering wheel off and get the lock out that way, we would've taken the steering wheel puller and my spare ignition along When we finally did get it started, it didn't run the best. We later found out that one coil back was shot...and one was half dead and missing a plug wire, so I drove it home on 3 cylinders! I also found out when I got home that the ABS pump fuse was blown...so I had no boost in my brakes either! The lights didn't work either...we messed em up pretty good busting out the lock, so I had no lights coming home. I had to follow my dad. But we fixed all that within a week. Then I got her out and the road.....and found some more problems. Dead alt, weak battery, bad tie rod ends, and a leaky PS line. I have a few of those fixed already. I started work on the PS line today The radio connectors were also cut off of it, so I spent most of the day soldering on new connectors. Now I just need to find a stock CD player for a 89-90 GP. There is also a ground wire somewhere that's messing up all the gauges, so I need to find that. I have a few pics of it from the night I got it home. I'll take some more once I get the PS line replaced. Here's what I got so far (keep in mind these are from Day 1): http://www.neonix.org/nero/engine.jpg http://www.neonix.org/nero/car.jpg http://www.neonix.org/nero/interior.jpg
