bogart219 Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 Yellow, I have a 94 GP se. When I bought it the guy told me the engine was replaced. On top of the intake manifold it says 3100 sfi v6. Normal engines for this car are the 3.1 and 3.4 from what I understand. What cars used this engine? If I ever need parts for this engine, I will have to go by the type of engine now, not just the year and type of car like normal. Thanks Quote
bogart219 Posted September 25, 2005 Author Report Posted September 25, 2005 After doing some more reading, It seems that the 3.1 and 3100 are basically the same engine. Is this correct? So any part for the 3.1 should work on the 3100, right? Thanks! :?: Quote

Some parts may be swapable, but it may require custom work for others. Quote
bogart219 Posted September 25, 2005 Author Report Posted September 25, 2005 Hey gut, Would that o-ring for the oil pump drive seal be the same on both engines? Quote
Canada Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 But you sure wouldn't want to be using that as a junkyard part! Quote
bogart219 Posted September 27, 2005 Author Report Posted September 27, 2005 Once more, thank you for the information Quote

customgod227 Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 That engine is used in many cars. My winter car is a bretta z26 and it has the same motor. Also, luminas, achevia's, caviler(2nd gen 3.1), cutlass, monte carlo, and grand prix have the same motor. But the tranny's are different(geared differently for different performance packages). Quote
