customgod227 Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 I have a 2000 Grand Prix GT, and like every other night, when I am going under 20 mph, and apply the brakes, the abs will kick in. The pedal will shake and I hear that goofy noise abs makes. What is the problem? It usually only does it at night too. Thats weird, does anyone know what is going on? Quote
Supreme Cutlass Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 No ABS lights I assume? Quote
1990lumina Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 I'm guessing something is up with one or more of the wheel speed sensors....maybe at night the vary in temperature causes it?? Like condensation on the sensor or somethjing Quote
Supreme Cutlass Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 I would think there would be a descrepancy in voltages, which is why I asked if there were ABS codes. Faulty ABS unit is my guess. Quote
supreme_style21 Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 The optic eye has gone bad on the ABS unit. Ouch. I'd check the wires to the wheel speed sensors first. They're quite known for going haywire. The differences in temperatures could cause such an issue. The speed sensor issues I've had in the past were all very temperature/moisture related. Quote
MoTox8410 Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 this happened to me for a few day then the ABS light came on and now just no abs Quote
