Guest TurboSedan
i finally got my BOV installed a couple days ago. every time i would let off the gas i would cringe when i heard that fluttering noise come from the compressor wheel :? i am using an ATP RS modular BOV from ATP Turbo. i am borrowing the BOV from my brother for now, but it can easily put back on his car within a few minutes since it simply screws onto the intercooler pipe. i brought my TGP lower intercooler pipe to a local shop to have a hole drilled in the pipe, and then they welded the ATP adapter on: the ATP weld-on steel adapter: http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/atpweldonadapter.jpg the TGP lower intercooler pipe with adapter installed: http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/BOV1.jpg http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/BOV2.jpg http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/BOV3.jpg lower intercooler pipe installed with the ATP RS BOV: http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/BOV4.jpg http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/BOV5.jpg http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/BOV6.jpg my hidden fun trick noisemaker http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/BOV7.jpg i used 1/4" fuel line for the BOV and routed it to the nipple behind the throttle body (not used since i have a 5-speed). works great! no more compressor surge at all! i LOVE the sound - i will try to get a vid posted within the next day or two so you guys can hear this sucker i also have a smaller air horn that screws onto the ATP BOV and i will be trying that out as well. my brother also has a TurboXS RFL (Really Fucking Loud) BOV that i am going to try out. all i have to do is unscrew the ATP BOV from my pipe and screw the RFL on. you can see the ATP weld-on adapter screwed onto the end of the TurboXS RFL BOV in this pic: http://www.turbosedan.com/cutlass/engine/turboxsrfl+adapter.jpg i will get a vid clip of this BOV as well so you can hear the difference. btw, i have used the 1g DSM BOV on my Lebaron GTS and i did not like it at all. it was making noise damn near all the time. even at part throttle cruise that thing would be venting. drove me nuts after awhile. Guest TurboSedan
oh it definately gets some attention! i turned up my MBC 1.5 turns about an hour ago. i was pushing 7psi and i'm now pushing 9psi. that helped ALOT! A/F gauge is showing the 2nd to the last green light lit up at WOT all the way to redline so all is good next up is Magnecore KV-85s, T-bolt clamps and FFP dogbones then it's back to moddin my Turbo Dodge. Bossman429
Awesome! So did you just drill a big ass hole in your pipe, then weled the adaptor on? I still need to get my DSM BOV welded onto my pipe, but haven't yet. I haven't driven the TSTE in about a month, I'm having MAJOR withdrawl symptoms! Garrett Powered
Thats where mine's located now, but I had to angle it up more so the CAI would still fit. That RFL fits on a threaded flange? I thought they used slotted ones.
Guest TurboSedan
the RFL needs a top flange to fit on the ATP weld-on adapter. you can see it in the pic i posted; it is between the ATP weld-on adapter and the RFL BOV itself. i got some vids of the Cutlass today with both BOVs. they sound similar but the RFL is louder. swapping them only takes about 2 minutes. i'm really not sure which i like better but the RFL is cheaper. i will post the vids here tomarrow. Guest TurboSedan
yeah i still have to try putting the small air horn on the ATP RS BOV. that should quiet it down quite a bit. although i really like it how it is now
