Guest Anonymous Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 I've noticed that mine doesn't work. On either cluster that I have had, analog and digital. I've replaced the bulbs, but that little dummy light never comes on. Anyone know what gives? Quote
supreme_style21 Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Somethin wrong in the wiring or the 'switch' in the latch? Quote
1990lumina Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Somethin wrong in the wiring or the 'switch' in the latch? That'd be my guess as well, or possibily some relay that turns that light on isn't connected/not functioning if there even is a relay Quote
Dirty Rockstar Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Get a new belt latch on the floor, connect it, and you'll be golden.. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 It could just even be that the connector isn't plugged in. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Would my seat swap have anything to do with it? I really didnt touch the seatbelt, but maybe I accidentally moved/unplugged a wire during this, although I really dont recall the bulb ever working before that. Quote
Regal_GS_1989 Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Some times the wires break off right where they go into the buckle. And, is it just the light that doesnt work, or the light and the chime that dont work?? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 The fasten belts chime doesn't work, either. It never did. But the actual chime module works, becuase it does chime if you leave the lights on or have the keys in the ignition with the door open. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Bump to the above statement. My chime module works for lights/door open, but there is no chime or light for the fasten belts. Suggestions? Quote
Bolt_Crank Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 My bros '91 GP sometimes did that too... once and awhile, if you were buckling up, the chime would cut in and out... probably a wire or contact issue with the latch... could be the previous owner didn't use the belt and disconnected the wire... Guest Anonymous Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 No, she didn't discnonnect it. If anything, it was me. I really dont remember if it worked pre-Aq9 install, maybe i messed something up. Quote
White93z34 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 go back and look at your seatbelt buckle, chances are when you did your seat swap the wire got bumped, broke, or came unpluged. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Aq9 ? the full power bucket seats, 16 way adjustable or whatever, leather, the GTP/TGP ones. Quote
94CutlassSLCoupe Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 well mine used to stay on constantly, so i pulled the bulb Quote
93CutlassSupreme Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 why do you care if it's out? you know if your seat belt is on Quote
digitaloutsider Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 why do you care if it's out? you know if your seat belt is on x2 Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 Its just sort of one of those things, that I want everything to be functioning 100%... Quote
rockfangd Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 this is the same problem i am having and i checked the latch and the cluster Quote

GOT2B GM Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 just unplug the connector BAM no more light Quote
5speedz34 Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Way to bump a almost 2 year thread. Quote
Supreme Cutlass Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 can't say he didn't search first Quote
rockfangd Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 can't say he didn't search first very true. I always search. I checked the plug which is fine. But i am a perfectionist. It must work properly for me to be satisfied. Does someone have a pinout maybe of how it is supposed to be, When i probe the connector on the floor one side is always gnd and the other side is only positive when the key is on. I know that that is not right because when you have the belt off it completes the circuit and when you have the belt on there is nothing. Is it pos or is it neg someone must know but my haynes and chilton have helped absolutely nothing Quote
