5speedz34 Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 I ordered a hood cable and it just came in today and it doesn't have the "lever" that goes in the interior part of the cable. Can I swap mine over w/o any problems or will I have to order that also? Thanks Quote
ToroToro Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 The new one I got from the dealer had the handle with it. But I seem to recall that GM changed the design of the hood cable somewhere along the line, so your Z34 might be different. Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 I got a new one with the TGP when I got it and it didn't have the lever. The cable just comes right out.. I suggesting unbolting the lever from the floorpanel so you have some slack to move the cable out. Once it's unbolted you'll see how it comes out easy enough. As long as your lever isn't broken you don't need a new one. Quote
Prospeeder Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 really, how easy is it to break them, like if u pull on the cable to hard, or like, somthing? Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 They're only weak plastic.. seems to be pretty common that they're broken, especially after that 10 to 17 tear old hood cable stops sliding so easily and you need to pull harder on the handle to release it. Quote
