customgod227
I have a 2000 Grand Prix GT. IT's got the 3800 non-supercharged. I want to add a supercharger. If i add one, will I hurt the engine or tranny? I have heard stories of people doing this and snaping connecting rods. but maybe it was because they f'd something up. Please leave a post if you have any suggestions. thanks
mfewtrail
Contact ZZPerformance.com , they're supposed to be offering a "budget" supercharger kit for those with GT's and other cars with the naturally aspirated 3800 Series II engines. DiscoStudd
Check out http://www.l67swap.com . There was one guy there that installed an L67 (3800 Series II Supercharged) top end on the L36 (3800 Series II n/a) in his Impala. From what I read, it seemed like a big hassle. IMHO, it'd be easier (and probably cheaper) to grab up a complete L67 powertrain (motor and trans) from a GP GTP. ZZP sells an adapter harness so you can use your L36's engine harness on the L67 motor, but I believe you'd need an L67 PCM...

havikx
isnt it harder to turbo those motors? power wise..turbo it but if your looking for the easiest way for boost..re-do the complete powertrain. find a l67 motor wiht the upgraded tranny and drop it in. i'd go with that. The L67 with tranny with low miles (below 50K) islike $3500 bucks right there

customgod227
Thanks. 3800 performance.com has a turbo kit for 2999. It is a snap on turbo kit. It can be put on in a matter of days, but that is a lot more than I want to spend on one thing. but it does give you 296 horsepower at the wheels. http://www.xtremeperformancestores.com/ctp_turbo_kit_296whp.wmv
pwmin
trade it in on a gtp. that may turn out to be the most expensive alternative, however, depending on your situation. unless you beef up the stock tranny, i wouldnt turbo or supercharge it. THe_DeTAiL3R
I vote turbo + beefed up tranny. You don't need an L67 to get massive power... those turbo kits are tits! This is probably the same kit (made my Cartuning) as it has the same price and similar HP that you mentioned. http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PFYC&Category_Code=RG&Product_Code=WB3039
