Andy Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 The Chiltons manual shows a different firing order than what I found in other posts. This is an 88 Grand Prix w/ a 2.8 liter. Any quick answers? Quote
digitaloutsider Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Actually, now I'm getting conflicting also. I see 1-2-3-4-5-6, and 1-6-5-4-3-2. Quote

Calvin Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 Actually, now I'm getting conflicting also. I see 1-2-3-4-5-6, and 1-6-5-4-3-2. 1-6-5-4-3-2 is for the 3800 and other GM 90 degree V6s. Your 2.8 as well as mine, goes 123456 in order. Quote

Canada Posted September 14, 2005 Report Posted September 14, 2005 Why do you need to know this????? I do this stuff for a living, and have never had to know the firing order of any DIS engine. Quote

Jud Chevy and Dodge V-8's are 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 - so even missing two cylinders it'd still be 1-4-3-6-5-2 - not even close to what you were thinking. Ford V-8's are 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 or 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 depending on which year - wich is still out of your theory missing two cylinders ... --Dave. Quote
