Cartracer Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 i bought a sub box from circuit city ( made by ae i think, 1 inch thick mdf, carpeted) for my single 12" kicker l7 and it happens that the rear deck is in the way of the box by about 1/8 of an inch. is there anything i can do to make the box fit against the seat instead if it sticking out in the middle of my trunk? Garrett Powered Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Get a home sub amp and use it in your home system. then make a fiberglass enclosure for your car. Thats just what I would do because 1" MDF is so damn heavy anyway. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 Nearly any and all premade boxes blow. I'd seriously consider making your own. Quote
1990lumina Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 You could sand off a quarter inch or so off the top of your box if you really wanted to, then glue new carpet to the top (use a power sander/belt sander) Quote
stockgp Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 why 1"? damn. i usually use 3/4" unless i'm building a serious spl setup. Quote
DRGrocho Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 Like was said before, just get out the belt sander and have at it. Its only 1/8" right. doh...old thread Quote
