JakeMetz63
I just noticed this the other day while driving down 1-96 at about 90 MPH. I was signaling to change lanes (yes, im one of the few people in MI who use signals) and my Tach jumped like 1k and my speedo jumped like 10 mph. Everytime the arrow flashes, this happens. Im sure it isnt any major problem, just annoying. Any ideas?
mihela816
My alternator lost a diode and thats what happened to me. I also got an anoying hum that changed pitch with RPM's.
JakeMetz63
I drive a 94 GTP with an engine from an LQ1 from a 97 monte carlo pace car swapped in, if that helps.
WhiteMonteZZZ
Umm.....there were no 97 pace car monte carlos....the only "pace car" 5th gen was in 1995. Just a side note for you. Also, as far as your problem...check your grounds and cluster wiring. My 80 trans am had this identical problem. The tach pulsed with the turn signal. Turned out there was one of the signal wires grounding with the tach circuit. Though those have printed circuit board tapes (the board tape folded over itself). However if you still have a short/ground loop somewhere, that'll do the same thing.
1990lumina
I had that problem, along with the turn signal stop signaling as the rpoblem got worse. In the end that same night my alternator took a shit. Just a fair warning
