i don't think there would be enough clearance for those on the a first gen...if they'd even work @ all for that matter...

They're not STBs. It's the brace that runs diagonally (like over the top of the battery), from the fender, to the front frame (same frame the motor mount brackets are attached to).

 

Since everything was totally redesigned on the '97 & up models, I doubt it would line up for you to bolt it on, even if clearence wasn't an issue.

A few guys have had their stock ones dipped in chrome for a custom look.....

personally I thinkt he stockers look fine, and don't think going with aftermarket pieces would make much of a difference performance-wise either.. there's only so much you can do, and I'd think the stock bars do well enough.

I'm talking fender brackes that look good. the 97+ won't work. I took measurements yesterday.

 

It would be sweet for Aweb80 To make some custom ones.

If I ever get my engine bay to where I like it mine will be dipped or powdercoated for a chrome look.
