BulletGTP Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 I just got a 1997 GP 3.8 NA. So I am a noobie to the 97+ I had a 1994 GTP 3.4 DOHC but thats a lost car now. Lost as in New Orleans Thats where it was last. Anyway the car (97) is nice, runs awsome and lots of power. I am sure not like you s/c guys The wierd thing I noticed tonight as I drove home from picking up the car was that it had a hard time shifting into 3rd and drive I had to really jump on it and let off the gas a bit then it shifted into drive. On the highway it was fine. Its almost like I have to build line pressure to shift. No leaks anywhere. I checked the fluid. Its like new and topped off. The SES light also came on on the way home as well. Anyone have any clues? Ideas? How to get the ses codes? Thanks guys Bullet Quote
cutlassdude96 Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 go to autozone or some place to have them scan it Quote
DaveFromColorado Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 it may be one of the sensors going bad not reading the proper shaft speed for it to complete the shifts the way it should - I'd have autozone or an other one of those places check it out and go from there. --Dave. Quote
BulletGTP Posted September 8, 2005 Author Report Posted September 8, 2005 It says in the code reader. "Transmission slipping" no codes other than that message... Bullet Quote
