jragsdale262 Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 OK, my 89 SE has 231k miles on it, and is reliable as any new car you can drive off the lot. I didn't actually know how many miles I had until today as 99% of the time my odometer reads "Error". I'd like to know how far can one of these cars go? My friend who referred me to purchase my car because it was exactly like his had the car die two months ago (threw a rod) in Sleepy Hollow, NY at 183k miles. Quote
jeremy Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Darkness' TGP has over 250k on it Quote
96montecarloz31 Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 my 94 Lumi Euro 3.1 has 200,905 the 96 Monte LS 3100 has 142,032 and the 97 Olds Sillohette van 3400 has 114,504 can you tell i love the 60*v6's? Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 my Cutlass has 231,000 miles. Quote
RareGMFan Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Though none of my cars right now have "too" high a mileage, my first 6000 STE with the distributored 2.8L had 164K miles.....when I BOUGHT it. I beat that thing black and blue (being my first "real" car, and all) for 5 years straight, and it just kept coming back for more. Made a 5 hour trip to WI with it, even doing 105 MPH a good distance of the trip, and it didn't even flinch. Had around 225K miles when it finally threw a rod, and even THAT was MY fault. It had developed a small oil leak somewhere, and I didn't notice it till it got so low on oil that it started sounding like a diesel. By then, it was too late. Otherwise, I'm confident the little bastard would still be going today. Quote
GPXGRL Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 I doubt mine was the highest but it wasn't pretty.. her cooling system fell out around 180k.. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 The Bonneville is at 160,000 and runs like a brand new car. The GP died at 180k from a failed transmission that had been slipping since 125k. Quote
DaveFromColorado Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 my old 88 regal was in the 280,xxx miles when I sold it... --Dave. Quote
mfewtrail Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 My '93 Grand Prix is at 244,900. I've seen W's with over 300K on them for what it's worth. Quote
GPXGRL Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 The GP died at 180k from a failed transmission that had been slipping since 125k. I can seriously relate.. *comfort* High mileage isn't a bad thing, I suppose, so long as maintenance was maintained.. but since these things aren't exactly new I suppose it would be hard to fix what some retard living in the suburbs and has a come over did. kuntzie Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 my 1990 grand prix SE 408,734 when i put her in retirement (still runs but falling apart)..... kilometers that is Quote
LuminaPower92 Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 my 92 base - 134k my 92 euro - 125k my 93 z34 - 128k Quote
3pt1lumina Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 My Lumina only has 132k on it. The other day I was making a delivery to a shop ( I deliver tires) and on a flatbed in comes a 90 Grand Prix 3.1. It looked decent but and when I asked about it they said the subframe had broken. When I looked at the mileage it was 301,XXX. I almost fell over. I didnt believe it until they started this thing. It ran so quiet! They were going to put a new subframe in and continue driving it as a delivery car for the shop seeing as the owner didn't want it back. Just goes to show how much of tanks these things are. Quote
Darkness Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 Darkness' TGP has over 250k on it Yep! Over 254K miles on the clock now. Still going strong! Quote
88Regal Limited Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 145k miles and climing. Besides a cracked engine block )dont ask) and leaking tranny (fixed) and the famous brake issue, it runs pretty good. I <3 my regal! (But an lQ1 in my regal would be nicer.....) Quote
DiscoStudd Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 95 Regal: 179,000 on the original powertrain (L27/4T60-E.) With as little as I drive it nowadays, I doubt I'll even run it up to 200k before I swap in an L67... Quote
93euro Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 l think mine could go for almost the lowest.....i just cracked 103,000 on my 93 lumi.... Quote
jragsdale262 Posted September 4, 2005 Author Report Posted September 4, 2005 You just got it broken in at that mileage, 93euro  Quote
99RegalGS Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 159k on the Regal 161k on the Bonne. See that you didn't waste any time taking pics of the Cutlass Shaun. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Sure didn't! I love the car! Drove it around some last night and today. I'm gonna type up a thread in the Member's Ride section. Everything go well on the ride home? Quote
Prospeeder Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 i rolled over 71,600 miles on my TGP, from the 70,300 when i bought it Quote
Calvin Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 214500 about on my 1989 Grand Prix 2.8 5 speed, but that is kinda cheating since the original engine suffered its demise when the car had 60k on the clock. Quote
mfewtrail Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 l think mine could go for almost the lowest.....i just cracked 103,000 on my 93 lumi.... There are PLENTY here a lot lower than that...especially the newer W's(plenty of older ones as well). Quote
