intern8tion9l Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 can somebody hook me up with who it is that builds the chip for the 3.1T/5spd setup? i know its been discussed probably a hundred times on here, but i can't find the right threads Quote
1990lumina Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 isn't Jeff M. that makes them??? I think he's a member on here, PM him. There is also a website but the URL escapes me right now, sorry Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Theres alos a guy over on 60degreeV6 thats does it, forgot his name though  Quote
SleeperRed90TGp Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 GMPCM.com. The people that do chips have all been on his forum. Jud Quote
digitaloutsider Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 When you're saying 3.1T do you mean VIN T or Turbo? If you're wanting a VIN T chip, talk to Vegeta on this board or visit the 60DegreeV6 store at http://www.60v6store.com/ . Ben has put countless hours, days, weeks, months, years into these chips, and you will NOT find a better 88-93 ('94 for 3.1 MPFI) 60* chip. Period. For turbo chips, I think everyone's pretty satisfied with Jeff M's TopGun 160 chip. Quote

He does really good work and once said the same of me, then some flame/postings a while back regarding something unrelated to my tunings messed up his attitude  :? don't know why but I will still suggest his wears Jeff M Quote
mfewtrail Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 I'm pretty sure the original poster wanted to know who did the 3.1Turbo/5spd chips since he bought a TGP and mentioned in another thread about swapping the turbo motor in. Contact "god910" on the board if you want to get a turbo/5spd chip to start out with. Quote
intern8tion9l Posted September 2, 2005 Author Report Posted September 2, 2005 thanks for the info guys. anybody know how much boost these motors can take? and if its anything over what stock is does someone by any chance make a wastegate actuator for them? Quote
Prospeeder Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Jeff Ms Top gun 160 makes perfect use of the T25, with 12psi of boost over the 7.5, these motors have a 2 bar map system, so they only can read 15psi of boost, so ur SOL after that Quote

A lot of us are running around 11-12psi from the stock turbochargers. You wouldn't need to run high boost numbers to make a good amount of power if you had a more efficient turbocharger. Quote

Mick (GMPCM owner) is EXTREMELY helpful. Quote
Prospeeder Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 my tgp is completly stock, and my freakin fan always wants to stay on, especally after long drives, u let it idle for abit, and then turn it off, and the damn fan will come on, for ever, u can have the heater on, and the temp almost to 100, and it still wants to kick the fan on, what a pita Quote

There is a timer that collects engine load information (kPa or Hg) and calculates how much it wants to run the fan after the engine is shut down, run it hard and the fan will run up to 5 minutes. I have a manual switch on my fans and do the same thing leaving the main cooling fan on for a while after I shut off the engine (spring, summer, fall/greater than 70 degrees out) and have run the main fan for up to an hour and still have 12.2 volts next time I go to start the engine. Jeff M Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 also Josh, since you got your chip from Jay in the mail i wouldn't count out that it may have suffered some corruption.... mine was totally messed up from the trip in the mail.... just a thought Nukersized Scanned by the monster x-ray machines no doubt. Guest TurboSedan Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 i never thought about that! btw, neither of my fans run after the engine is shut off, at least i've never noticed them to. i think Jay told me once that the IC fan is set to come on at speeds under 30mph although i'm pretty sure it is still on at speeds above 30mph. anyways, so far it seems like the engine runs cooler than it did when it was NA. intern8tion9l Posted September 4, 2005 Author Report Posted September 4, 2005 so far i'm not getting anywhere with this problem. no response from god910 Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 i've been meaning to give Jay a call soon and i will mention it to him. fwiw i would try emailing him (i will PM you his email). he hardly ever logs onto this forum so it might be awhile if you PM'd him here. Quote
