Guest Anonymous
I'm looking into a TGP HUD unit as a replacement for my 1992 one. I'm looking to replace it because the cable-driven mechanism is getting old and difficult to operate. The TGP HUD's have the adjustment right on the unit itself, correct? -Is the TGP HUD unit the same size as the 1992, ie, will it fit and bolt into my current dash opening? -Is the wiring the same? -Is the grille ontop removable? i don't like how it looks. Thanks for your help guys. R

I was wondering about those two myself. It's not physically the same size but I don't know if the mounting points are all the same. -Is the grille ontop removable? i don't like how it looks. Yes, but it looks bad without it. Personally I think the grill makes it look less cheapy than the later ones.
Guest Anonymous
The actual HUD unit is bigger that the 91-3 ones? so it wouldn't fit into a 92 opening?

no1kicker
They mount differently. The dashpad of one wouldn't work on the other. They both use the same wires from the speedometer/headlight switch, but the connectors themselves are different.
Guest Anonymous
Damn, thats too bad. I really wanted to nix my cable-adjusted ones for one of the TGP type. Thanks for the info, though.
no1kicker
If you want to do that, just get the dashpad and connector along with the HUD itself. It won't be hard to swap since you already know which wires are needed. I had the TGP HUD in first, then switched to a 92 one. I personally like the later one better.
