93CutlassSupreme
how long does it typically take for a clutch to break in? i put a trans and a new clutch in this car at the end of april, and this clutch has been grabby as hell since it was replaced. it takes a ton of gas to get this car moving, more so than any other stickshift car i've ever driven, and they were all 4 cylinder cars the old clutch wasn' this grabby

1990lumina
My friend replaced the one on his 96 2.2L Cavy and it took maybe 2-3 weeks of driving to "break it in" (not extremely grabby off the line) All they did was roughed up the fly wheel with some sand paper and it's been working fine ever since. Is there some sort of adjustment you could make possibily??
DaveFromColorado
... did you bleed the hydraulic system for the clutch? (I've seen that be a problem before) Usually clutch break in should take about 10 seconds for a stock clutch, and about 100 miles for a performance clutch. --Dave.
