K8JWT
I am having a wired problem with my 1994 Pontiac GP. 1. It is sometimes hard to start as when you turn the key all of the lights go out but if you key switching the key on & off after a few tries it starts. 2. When driving, the dash warning light that is on due to the EGR valve, dims whenever the turn signal is blinking. 3. With the engine running, if I turn on the headlights it alomost kills the motor. 4 A few times recently the car will shut-off while driving as if there was no electrical power going to the vehicle as I lose ALL lights, buzzers, everything but if I wait a few minutes it will restart and run fine. Had the altenator and battery tested a 2 different auto parts stores today and both said the battery & altenator are working fine. I AM LOST NOW! ! ! ! ! ! GP1138
Check your auxiliary positive post, on the driver's side strut tower. There should be a red cover over it. That nut likes to come loose and cause all sorts of problems. I've had those problems before too, and it was because my battery was not taking a charge, but since your alternator and batt. tested fine I'd go for the aux. positive cable first. Also check your connections to the battery.
K8JWT
Would this Aux. Positive POst cause me to have the complete vehicle electrical shutdown as well as the startup problems too?
GP1138
Yes, it would. Those are almost exactly the symptoms that everyone who has had that problem report.
