Supreme Cutlass
I have no idea what's going on; my car has had a history with the previous owners of losing battery power overnight. Today I drove down to wallmart, and on the way the battery level indicator dropped down to where it wouldn't even display anything after about a mile in. Kept driving, and while at a stop light, I noticed the car's idle was fluxuating and was shaking the car, so I turned off the AC, and the sound went away. Got on the highway and there was very little throttle response. we got close to the wallmart, so my mom turned the AC back on, and air only came out of the floor vents. When I came back, the car wouldn't start. After I jumped it it ran fine. Got home and turned it off, and it started back up again with no trouble. Any ideas? jdcutty
Bad Alternator, Bad Battery, or a loose electrical connection. Hve the first two tested, and check your aux pos terminal, connections on the starter, and the main ground from the battery. I would guess it to probably be your alternator though. Supreme Cutlass
The battery is new, is there any way to test the alternator myself?
SleeperRed90TGp
Pretty easy. Get a volt meter and with motor running put the probes on the + and - of the battery. Should be about 13.5 volts. Or you could come here and I could test it for you. Jud
