I got the wire harness for my car but I notice there is a 5 pin plug that is also attached to the old Delco radio. Anybody know what this plug is for? Its a 5 pin plug but there are only 3 wires coming from it

so does this mean the 5 pin plug goes to a factory amp thats located somewhere behind the dash? If so I guess I dont have to worry about it and just connect the harness to the new receiver

No. None of the wires I listed there are labeled as going to an add-on amp.

What colors are the wires from the 5-pin connector? Unfortunately, I don't have the Cutlass wiring diagrams, but I'm thinking the wire colors should be about the same.

The 5 pin plug wire colors:

1 black

2 green

3 empty

4 light brown

5 empty

Its plugged in the old Delco radio on the lower right side below the wire harness

I dont have any controls on the steering wheel for the radio. Anybody know what this plug is for?

Even though this is my first car radio install I'm learning a lot about wiring and installation I never knew before. I will be a Pro in no time :thumbsup:

black = ground

light brown (gray?) = panel lights (dimming)

green = data line (goes to ALDL & steering wheel controls if equipped)
