fargo_182
93 Z34 auto DOHC I'm getting terrible gas mileage, i'm not throwing any codes what so ever, and I don't know what it is. $15 to $20 in fuel lasts me 2 days! where it used to last me pretty much a week. things changed: plugs wires, rebuilt egr, brand new cat mufflers. oil change, air filter. It runs pretty damn smooth, hauls ass (fastest z34 in my city). Now I can't understand why it would not throw a code for my O2 sensors but I'm going to change them. I smell rotten eggs once in a while and excess gas soemtimes too but not all the time. any ideas on anything else. for the manifold O2 should I drop the back subframe or pull the motor forward? I have access to a full gm garage. Thanks In Advance

fargo_182
I'm talking a few months, I don't know if you think I'm a complete idiot or what but since I've been driving it it has only jumped 10 to 15 cents a litre, and my cousin has the same car with a ticking lifter and his tranny is fucked and still gets better mileage. I just put 15 litres in this bitch and by this time tomorrow I'll be empty with under an hours worth of driving. That's normal? I think not. and for you americans thats roughly 4 gallons. I should just flush my money down the toilet, or wipe my ass with it
19Cutlass94
Maybe you have a fuel leak somewhere. Thats really the only thing i can think of if your loosing that much gas that fast.
PJB
An older car doesnt always throw an O2 sensor code when its bad. It shouldnt cost more than $25 and its worth replacing since it probably hasnt been done in a while anyway.
GP1138
I was just giving you a hard time, man. I don't think you're an idiot. I'd look at the O2 sensor first too.

slick
Change the O2 sensor, and check your plugs. While your changing your sensor, hit your cat with a wrench or something. If you hear rattling inside, have your cat replaced as well.

Same. My gas mileage has gone up lately... got 18.5 MPG last time I filled up but even with that, 4 gallons is nothing. Plus, you never told us how much driving you do a day. jeremy
30 km's is like 300 miles, right? If my math is correct, that is pretty close

fargo_182
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha where do you kids go to school in the states? do they teach math there? sorry... 30km = 18.6 miles Yeah well... went to where my cat was put in and turns out it is fuXored. orderin me a new one..if they say it went due to my car running like crap im going to rip out the cat myself and stick it right up their asshole. I thought the noise was the downpipe??? (I think thats what it's called) connected to the manifolds to the cat rattling. I will finally have a great sounding exhaust again. I'm still goign to do the 02's so for the manifold one I will ask again Is it easier to drop the rear subframe or rock the motor forward and pull it from the top? THe_DeTAiL3R
30km = 300miles!!! And to think I know the stupid imperial system fairly well, when metric is used all over the rest of the world including Canada. The US is stuck with their stupid system.. whatever. Anyways... 30km from half a tank to 1/4 is pretty shitty. Although gas guages get pretty inacurate sometimes....
