SoxNation01027
ok, so the motor in my 1992 CUtlass Supreme in getting on in miles (170,000 or so) and I'm looking for a newer used one. or a 3.4 crate motor. In anyones opinion, would it be easier for me to find a 3.4 for it, or mod it for a 3.8 Supercharged? I can do all mods myself, it would mostly be a $ thing...any advice would be appreciated... EurosportZ34
stick with the 3.4 DOHC unless swapping engines is like 2nd nature to you and you happen to have a 3.8 Supercharged sitting in your garage
gp90se
Just because im diggin ya screen name (fuckin right soxs are gunna do it again) Stick with the LQ1 (3.4). you can go with the newer style 3.4, just reuse the only wiring harness (some sensors wont be used on the new motor, not a problem) and i think on the 96-97 3.4s theres different exhaust setup, but you'd have to do more research. the L67 (supercharged 3.8) will bolt in, but you will need to swap interior wiring harnesses, and have a chip made to bypass the VATS security. Good luck
