stockgp Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 were the monsoon head units the same as regualr pontiac head units? i know there was also a factory amp, but was it compatible with any pontiac hu of the same era? Quote
Dan94Z34 Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 The short answer to the question is...NO. Quote
bluegp Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 I thought the Monsoon head units were the same as their non-Monsoon counterparts. Isn't the difference in the separate amps and speakers? Quote
stockgp Posted August 10, 2005 Author Report Posted August 10, 2005 that's what i thought. the only difference i was positive of was the monsoon systems had the monsoon symbol on the head unit Quote
jeremy Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 I thought the Monsoon head units were the same as their non-Monsoon counterparts. Isn't the difference in the separate amps and speakers? They are the same as far as I have told Quote
LukeZ34 Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Yea, the headunit is the same as the other ones. The difference is the external 'high power' amplifier and the speakers that makes the Monsoon system what it is. Quote
Dan94Z34 Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 When I took out my monsoon cd-player in my camaro, I noticed theree plugs on it. The standard GM radio wiring harness, and theres a thrid plug with 4 wires on it, IRC. I believe the third plug runs the monsoon amp. The speakers on the monsoon system are set up werid though. Quote
stockgp Posted August 11, 2005 Author Report Posted August 11, 2005 i believe there is a third plug on the hu i am talking about. hmm... Quote
