GOT2B GM Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 For the past week or so my car's been throwing a code so I went and got it read, and its the knock sensor circuit. I understand there's 2 KS's on this engine. Has anyone ever replaced theirs, and how hard are they to get at? Thanks Quote
gp90se Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 very easy to do when the motors outta the car Shouldnt be to hard from the passangers side wheel well. Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 i've done mine in the L82 and it wasn't hard at all. Hopefully yours will be easy. If I remember correctly (it's been like 2 years) I just unscrewed it from towards the bottom of the engine. Then made sure i threaded the new one correctly and I was set. Quote

I'm assuming you have a auto, I haven't see the under side of a 3.4/4T60-E in a long time so I don't know how difficult it would be to get it from the bottom. The side is probably your best bet if not take the plenum off and go from there. Quote
GOT2B GM Posted August 11, 2005 Author Report Posted August 11, 2005 Right on, sounds like its not too bad as long as I can get them from wheel well or by removing the plenum. There's not much room at all to get at anything from the bottom with the 3.4DOHC 4T60E combo. Quote
joey b Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 go from behind/under. In the alternator cooling duct there is a curver that is to go around the knock sensor. You will want to access it from there. That is the only knock sensor on your car. It might be a little harder than you plan on. Quote
GOT2B GM Posted August 14, 2005 Author Report Posted August 14, 2005 I just got the part yesterday. Do you have to remove the alt. cooling duct to replace the KS? Quote
