1990lumina Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Alright, I did a search, and got some questions answered, but to be sure since I DON'T want to break my door panels (I'll never be able to replace them). To remove the panel there are screws along the outside of the panel, some by the door handle, and under the window/door lock switches. Does this seem correct? Are there any other screws or things I should know about before trying to remove the panel?? I need to do some measuring behind there, and need to get the panel off sometime tomorrow. Thanks! - Jeff L. Quote
3carz34 Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 Jeff, suonds about right. Don't forget to carefully pry loose the window switch panel( then you can disconnect the wires). Then carefully pry the panel loose, starting from one end. Underneath the panel is attached with those stupid plastic push pins. Don't be surprised if you brake some. If you need replacements check with a body shop, the replacement ones at the discount stores are cheesy and break easy.Once the panel is loose you will have to creatively slide it over the door handle(PIA, but not too bad).Don't forget to remove the set screw from the side mirror too.Hope this helps. 1990lumina Posted August 9, 2005 Author Report Posted August 9, 2005 Thanks man, and welcome to the forum !! I'll give it a try tomorrow Quote
Kalgorn Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 It's easy to do. I did it on my Z34. Lots of wires if you've got power windows and locks, but overall very easy. Might help that I had my '90 Cavalier's door panel off about 4 times. Quote
slick Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 These door panels are a breeze. I think I have w-body door panels down to about 10-15 minutes per door. Quote
GOT2B GM Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 Dont forget the screws that are under the shoulder belt slot in the top of the door panel. Quote
