man I'm pissed, an exhaust leak is nothing outta my grasp obviously but its just the fact that everything has been goin great on the car, I put a new o2 in the car about 3 months ago. I had noticed that the old one had been broken clean off! there was a head on it for the socket to grab thank god to pull it no problem but the metal part and wire snapped right off. I pulled it, installed new one with a lil difficulty but overall no problem back on the road GOOD TO GO. now last week after I ran cleens thru the car and did my tune up goodies I was paying really close attention to the sound of the engine and I noticed it was loud like an exhaust leak? hmm than I notice I got this surging problem at idle? hmm than I notice that when I gun it I instantly smell shitty exhaust in the cockpit? hmm I'l bet a thousand dollars that damn o2 is snapped off again!!!! I dont know how it happens, and I cant get a good look at it outside to tell but I bet it hyappened. my only idea is because I have such worn and loose dog bones on the motor that the shake into gear is causing the engine to rub the o2 up against the firewall or just the rattling alone has caused the o2 (with antiseize on the threads dont forget) to rattle right out the threads over a 3 month period. now I gotta hoist this fat beyotch in the air and see whats goin on down there. damn I need dog bones, but I'm so tight on cash right now I couldnt afford to pay attention, I mean hell! the other day I noticed one of my alternator bolts had wiggled right out of its damn home!! I'm not a rook man I work on cars, I know how to torque somthin down so it qwont move!!! I'm just hopin its a exhaust pipe so I got a good excuse to take it down and gut the damn cat while I'm under there heheh

not too many people jumped on this one but anyways today I threw her in the air and checked it out. it wasnt the o2 because yesterday when I changed the plugs I strapped the engine forward and could see clear as day back there and the o2 is doing just fine :)

so today up in the air she went and I found the problem. where the cats front end pipe connects to the pipe after the downpipe (are you with me yet?) anyways they were welded togethor and I guess the weld snapped (due to my expired dogbones I bet)

anyways theres a pipe in a pipe and its leaking all around so I put a clamp on and that tightened it up a bit but it was still leaking. I asked a few guys in the dealer if they had any muffler cement and they just laughed. bro we dont use muffler cement in here! go to the parts store on the corner across the street and get some. so thats what I did. I layed a clean thick bead all around the seam and started her up. it dried instantly when the heat took to it and now there is no leak. its funny y'know 4 times today I thought she wasnt running because I couldnt hear it. I'm happy :D now all I hear when I step on it is that great burbling GP dual exhaust and a few thoughts inside my head about my burnt atf fluid :? my next project...
