50notch
Hello. I know most of you have already dealt with this question but i havent been able to find it in the forums. Anyway, my 1990 TGP has the radio locked. I have the shop manual but it only gives you the instructions for pulling the code out of the radio if you do not have the steering wheel option. My radio does not have the preset 2 or 3 required in the first step. Any help would be appreciated
Dan94Z34
Theftloc Bypass 1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first 3 digits of the display code are displayed 2. Write the numbers down. 3. Press the AM FM button, write down the next 3 numbers 4. Call 1-800-537-5140, when asked, enter 202107, press the “button†and enter the 6 digit code from the radio, you will get an unlock code, write it down. 5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first 2 numbers, then press minute button and set the next two last numbers, press AM FM button, SEC should be displayed, turn on radio To remove customers code, repeat step 5. you should see --- on radio face, the code is now out of the radio. Prospeeder
yea he does, they just arnt numberd, but there are presets, like radio presets right? i didnt think 1990 TGPs had theftlock systems, mines never went off and the battery was disconected for over a week
50notch
hmm...i noticed the buttons on the actual deck itself that would most likely be presets and just arent numbered. i did try to hold the 2 and 3 down (well at least what i think is the 2 and 3) but have no success. jeremy
The Delco cd player in my car says "Delco Lock II" but what the hell does that mean...I don't even think it does much... Is your deck say the same thing??? you are correct. The radio in a '90 TGP isn't theftlock and you would obviously have a different procedure for unlocking it. I will see what I can come up with to help.
jeremy
Try procedure below and be sure to let us know if it works: Unlocking the radio is a basic two-step procedure. First, turn the ignition and radio on, then depress the "mute" button on the steering wheel control pad for about 10 seconds. This will send a digital signal to the radio, restoring it to normal operation.
