kknobl
It appears that I have a slight leak in the upper radiator hose. When I start the car after it's been sitting a while, it drips right onto the serp belt. It seems that the drip stops once the engine gets some heat on it. Took it to do some errands, and the leak hasn't started again. I presume this would mean that the hose is expanding with the heat and self-sealing the leak? Any thoughts? Thanks, Kevin
Cam'ron
that would be my guess, maybe try tightening the clamp... depends where it is actually leakin from
sl3196
How old are the hoses?
3pt1lumina
My Chevelle did this to me with the upper radiator hose. I replaced it and it has never done it again. Umm, my hose was 26 years old at the time and it was the original, so it was bound to go
kknobl
How old are the hoses? Not sure. Is there any stop leak I can get for it? Thanks, Kevin
Cam'ron
what about just replacing the hose... if it is cracked or punctured no stop leak will be a permanant fix

Prospeeder
yea really, hose from Shucks = CHEAP, and stop leak will cause SO many problems, when ur system clogs up, and u have to pay a bunch of money to fix it, or ur car overheats, then ull wish, hey, i shoulda spend a couple bucks on a hose
DaveFromColorado
stop leak is a band-aid when you are in the middle of nowhere, with no way to fix the leak you've got and should be flushed out right away when you can get to a place to fix the leak properly. get a new hose and be done with it, it's cheap insurance to not having a major problem down the road. --Dave. GP1138
Stop-leak ain't gonna bandaid a leaky hose. I'd just get a soldering iron and melt the rubber so it'd reseal or something if I wanted to half-ass a rad hose.

Stevo
Unless it IS the hose, it sounds like your waterpump is about to die on you. I find they leak slightly right before they die. Also leak stoppage and related products are usually put into vehicles when they are manufactured. Not in the concentrations that the end user usually puts in. Prospeeder
today, this lady drove up, and her side light was hanging by the cords, and she gets out, and sighs, and puts it back up, and gets some duct tape out of the back, and she rips a big ol peice of it and slaps it on the tail light, i was like, and she waddled her self into the building while me and my friends just sat and watched and and then my friend has a CHevy Sprint, and the seats are helt together with tons of duct tape cause there dog ripped it up and then my dads side mirror on his Ford police rig fell off, and and had to duct tape it on till he got it fixed
