93euro
ok so OCCASIONALLY when i start my car (93 lumina, 3.1) up, it doesnt idle smoothly. it usually happens when the car is started up when warm. when it does this, the tach fluccuates from 500-1000 rpm, but it isnt erratic. the tach has a rythm to it when bouncing up and down. when it is put into gear, the fluccuations stop. what gives? DaveFromColorado
almost sounds like the fuel in the rail gets a bit warm and the computer tryin' to make up for that changes the idle, but the small changes cause a big difference and the computer keeps fighting the idle, putting it in gear will cause a load on the engine and it's more easy to correct at that point... that's just a theory - but my old Buick used to do that all the time too - but only when warm. --Dave. Crimson Fury Z
bad gasket(s)?
fytpyca
Maybe due to dirty throttle body or MAF meter on it. The same thing happned to my 1995 Buick Regal. The car even shaked hard during idling when engine is warm. Two days ago I cleaned the throttle body, cleaned the MAF meter (using electrical cleaners). Now the car idles very smooth.
