chadz34
My Lumina is at my house now, I haven't taken it back to storage yet cause I wanna get some pics of it first for you guys. But anyways, I've noticed the rasp from my exhaust is only there until the engine warms up. Once the engine warms up the rasp is gone. I was wondering if it's always supposed to rasp or if it is supposed to go away. What causes the rasp anyways?

1990lumina
Holy! Hsaha, but sounds like me and my RX-7...I've put 300kms on it this year, and 200km of that is from driving it home from storage at the farm.
sonyman87
the rasp from a dohc is nothing to worry about its just the valves warming up. most dohc owners weill hear a rasp at 2300-2800 rpms that is normal if you have a rasp at wot then you have an obstruction possibility
chadz34
Yeah ok thanks. It only lasts for like 5 minutes before the rasp is gone. It sounds sweet especially if you hold it at 2300rpm going up the street and you get everyone looking at you.
chadz34
It's got a little better pick up before it warms up. I better be careful where I drive it, cops might see my expired stickers :?
