91GPSTE
I remember reading somewhere that Crown Victoria wheels will fit on the Grand Prix. Is this true? Is the bolt pattern the same? I know that Crown Vics are 4.5 but GP is different, do they still fit?
Redwingvksm
if they are different - they won't fit. The Diameter will be off...
jeremy
s the bolt pattern the same? I know that Crown Vics are 4.5 but GP is different I think you answered your own question.
mfewtrail
4.5 = 114.3mm. Our wheels are 115mm, so they will likely work depending upon offset/clearance issues with the brake calipers. I believe it's recommended to use hub centric rings when using the 114.3 bolt pattern on these cars, but someone else here can answer that for you. GnatGoSplat
It's recommended to use hubcentric rings on ANY wheels, regardless of bolt pattern. I know a lot of guys on ClubGP claim otherwise, but those guys are... well... dumb. 114.3 fits fine. That's what I have on my 89 Cutlass and had absolutely no problems. jeremy
4.5 = 114.3mm. I was thinking that 4.5 was more along the lines of 5x120. If they are 114.3, there is a very good chance that they will fit, the other key factor is the offset. Like Shawn said, I too would recommend the rings. I have having a hard time picturing any Crown Vic wheels that would look good on a GP though.
GnatGoSplat
I bet Crown Vic wheels would have too little offset anyway. I bet they'd stick out a lot. 5x120 is closer to 4.75... 5x4.75 is GM's midsize RWD bolt pattern. GM's fullsize RWD BP is 5x5. Ford sure uses a wimpy bolt pattern for such a big car. bluegp
It's recommended to use hubcentric rings on ANY wheels, regardless of bolt pattern. You're correct. They insure that the wheel is centered and take the weight of the car off of the studs/lugs. I think I heard somewhere that some of the Mustang wheels have a good offset. Does anybody know anybody that has used them?
GnatGoSplat
Mustang wheels are around +24mm offset or so... not good for most W's, but good for GP's with B4U.

Justin
The crown vicky rims have a very fwd looking offset as well. I haven't measured it yet, but there's hardly any dish to them at all. I've got 2 sets of steel CV cop car rims, 16x7, and was contemplating putting a set on the Prix once I got everything else worked out. That is, if they clear the calipers. mfewtrail
I have having a hard time picturing any Crown Vic wheels that would look good on a GP though. Take your pick. Their xlace style wheels looks sorta like the ones that were on a prototype TGP in a magazine article(the center area). http://www.buycarwheels.com/12FOW04/CarWheels/Crown_Victoria/ http://www.autoguide.net/apf/ford-wheels_rims/crown_victoria-catalog.html

I don't think x-lace styled rims look good on any car
91GPSTE
Assuming that the offset is correct, will the bolt pattern work?
Justin
Yep, as long as they clear your front calipers.
