Guest Anonymous
I went to Lowe's tonight to look for connectors to hook my speakers up tomorrow. I got out of the GP and started toward the door. Another guy had just pulled in and was getting out of his vehicle. (i believe it was a sidekick or tracker, not sure though) He was about 15 ft. behind me and he hit the button on his keyfob to lock his doors. when his lights flashed I heard a solenoid click. I thought his transmitter unlocked someone elses car. I ignored it and went about my business. I left Lowes and started home. I looked in the mirror and guess what I saw? The trunk was open. That's the solenoid I heard. How did it do that? Guess I'll be checking the trunk every time I go somewhere now. I didn't even know this GP had keyless entry. Never thought to look for it. Guest Anonymous
Yes Chuck, all TGP's had keyless entry. Didn't you know I bought an '89 GP SE a couple weeks ago? That's what I was driving.

mfewtrail
coincidence?.....don't you have the button in the dash to pop the trunk on the GP?.....maybe its fawking up?
Guest Anonymous
That is also possible. I grounded the wire in the trunk and nothing happened so I'm thinking that may have been it.
Guest
could you have accidently hit the keyfob while itw as in your coat pocket or something? I have done that on a few occasions, I litteraly bent over without sticking my hands in my pockets and a key struck the button.
Guest Anonymous
I don't have a key fob for it and I didn't even know it had keyless entry.
GnatGoSplat
They're pretty old, made before encrypted rolling codes and such, so it's probably no surprise that there are 2 transmitters out there with the same code.
Guest Anonymous
How about 3 Shawn? I was leaving Ponderosa Saturday and bam it popped again as I was walking out the door. There was a guy walking out ahead of me that had just unlocked his doors on his minivan. He was using his remote to do it.
GnatGoSplat
Maybe it's just a coincidence and your keyless entry box is just on the fritz?
