I *think* so. Best to just look underneith it is stamped onto the pan. I looked in his profile and he does have the 3100, so he'd have the wonderful 4T60e

wow gm would do somehting that simple and stamp the model of the tranny on the pan... is there an identifier in the vin for this as well?

there is in the RPO codes, but it could be the 65E trans

without a reference tellin me what the hell they mean i wouldnt even try to figure out my rpo codes... i look at that decal in the trunk and go crosseyed!! nothing more than a bunch of 3 digit codes

alll 00+ montes including the LS got the t65. The gearing is different between the SS and the LS. The 04 and 05 SS Supercharged models got the t65-hd

 

the t-60 was phased out in 99 and the last of them were used in the fleet sales luminas in 00 and 01

Does that mean I could put a 4T65e on my 3100? I'm guessing no, due to the different computer.
