GP1138 Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 First of all, search function would be a good place to start. Second, how is the ICM/coilpacks, all connectors good, crank sensor good, etc? Quote
bluefever2 Posted August 2, 2005 Author Report Posted August 2, 2005 all the connections are tight, how do you test the crankshaft sensor? Quote
bluefever2 Posted August 12, 2005 Author Report Posted August 12, 2005 does anyone know how to test the crankshaft sonsor on here Quote
Crimson Fury Z Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 nope, but also check on the alternator, starter, and timing belt. also what year is it? 91-93, use a paper clip to pull codes if it has any stored. put the key in the start position(all dash lights light up), then stick each end in the upper right 2 ports on the diagnostic connector. it'll flash 12 3 times (* pause **) remove the plugs and see what condition they are in. maybe remove the ignition module and have it tested. DaveFromColorado Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 use a paper clip to pull codes if it has any stored. put the key in the start position(all dash lights light up I do believe you mean put the key in the "run" position - we don't want to confuse the newbie ... --Dave. Quote
chadz34 Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 If it doesn't run, don't buy it. Unless, you get a pre-certification done so you know what you need. Quote
Z34door Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 its a LQ1, dont buy it, buy a 3.1 and buy all the parts off the Z34 Quote
digitaloutsider Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 .. unless moving out of your own way is a prerequisite when buying a car. But on the other hand, a non-running 3.4 isn't going anywhere anyway. Quote
gp90se Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Buy it cheap, thow a crank sensor into it (prolly the issue) and see what it does. if not, u can get a set of coilpacks used for $20 but like i said, go with the crank sensor Quote
