jasond Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 Does anyone know where to get a coolant temp sensor that will kick the cooling fan(s) on at a lower temp? :?: Quote
cutlassdude96 Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 the computer controls what temp the fans turn, you can get a custom chip made to have them come on earlier Quote
jasond Posted July 30, 2005 Author Report Posted July 30, 2005 the computer uses the resistance from the sensor correct? Quote
jasond Posted July 30, 2005 Author Report Posted July 30, 2005 Does anyone make a sensor with a different resistance that will fool the ecm into kicking the fans on earlier? Quote
jasond Posted July 30, 2005 Author Report Posted July 30, 2005 It's a '94 Grand Prix Se with a 3100 M eng. code. Quote
jasond Posted July 30, 2005 Author Report Posted July 30, 2005 I have seen some for F-body cars, but they use a fan switch, not a cts to kick on the fans. I really don't want to butcher my factory wiring to add an aftermarket controller or a resistor. Quote
jasond Posted July 30, 2005 Author Report Posted July 30, 2005 That sucks. In my opinion the fans are kicking on at too high of a temp, around 225*. I just had my brother help me change the stat. We installed a stant superstat, stock 190 temp. Quote
JakeMetz63 Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 My buddys got a fan switch on his 94 GP GT and he said it wasnt hard to install. Quote
