Cutlass88er
Ok so had my sister drive my Lumi to the JY so I can trash the Escort and as I followed her I noticed the Lumis high mount stop Lights don't work. I checked the bulb. All the other bulbs in the car are good and the brake lights on the rear lights assemblys work fine, just the high mounted stop. I vaguely remember a recall being out for the early 90s Lumis that dealt with the brake switcfh, is this the same thing> How do I g]figure out if my Lumi had that recall, do I call GM? And is that recall still active? -d
White93z34
replace the bulbs. expensive as hell, so thats why i grab a mess of them from the yard. when i got my z34, both of the third brake lights were out.
jeremy
like Chris said, it is just the brake light bulb. FWIW: Brake Switches are like $5, even if the recall is active and that was your problem, why take it in for a $5 problem? moving this the correct section too... Cutlass88er
The bulbs are all new and fine, so should I just replace the switch or is there a cable that I can check?
DiscoStudd
The switch is small enough to hide down your pants when you're leaving the boneyard, so if you want to go that route, it's free . Before you go replacing the switch, make sure there's voltage at the CHMSL (3rd Brake Light) connector when you're applying the brakes... GutlessSupreme
If the normal brake lights work fine, and only the center high-mounted light isn't working, it's not the brake light switch. It can't be.
