Tigershark Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 I swear i have looked for it all over the engine bay and I don't see it... Can anybody help? Quote
Prospeeder Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 ohh, some people i hear, that possibly they broke, and the previous owner never replaced them, the tank should be in plain sight prolly in the drivers side Quote
Tigershark Posted July 29, 2005 Author Report Posted July 29, 2005 Damn ... in plain sight? man then the reservoir is gone. :bawl: ...... guess that's that. Quote
terryk2003 Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 isnt the resevoir in a different spot on the older w's? maybe i'm thinkin of a lumina or something... :? Quote
Prospeeder Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 no, mines right in plain site on top of the battery, the doch i know is in plain site on the driver side, some1 get a pic of a DOCH motor http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b67/lllxtoolxlll/a14.jpg see on the drivers side, that little bottle, im pretty sure that it go to a junkyard, ull find one Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 It's right above the battery on my 95 I'm starting to forget, but I'm pretty sure on my 88 2.8 it was behind the battery (close to the strut tower) but still easy to see. Heres a good pic (from a 92 Cutty) Quote
Tigershark Posted July 29, 2005 Author Report Posted July 29, 2005 yeah, for sure, it's gone. I'm even missing the bar that goes right above the Reservoir. Thanks , even though i look under the hood of literally hundreds of cars a week I still have yet to see under the hood of another 3.4 DOHC W .. most of them are 3.1's 3.3's and 3.8's .. How long was the DOHC made for? I heard from this guy that it was originally a boat racing engine... any truth in that? Quote
Prospeeder Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 ok, u should prolly go to a JY ASAP and get a crossbrace (the bar) and a tank, ull have better handling, and who knows, it could cause alot of flex of the chassis when u turn hard or put alot of strain on the other cross brace, u should just go get one, it obviously braces somthing Quote
jeremy Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 I heard from this guy that it was originally a boat racing engine... any truth in that? I have heard that about the old Ford/Yamaha SHO V6 SHO motors, but never about the LQ1 Quote
White93z34 Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 the 3.4 was made 91-97, definately replace those crossbrace bars. and washer tank. Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 i can't believe that a crossbar is missing...sorta important. did someone replace a battery in your car and then forget to put the things back??? Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Aren't there some Regals or something that didn't come with the crossbars? If so I'm guessing it's not gonna kill your car not to have them, but it IS designed to have one.. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 The crossbars aren't all too important. Most 88-96 Regals didn't even have them. It just slightly stiffens the chassis during cornering. Quote
buckethead Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 my 89 regal has them and it's a really base model. Is the one on the other side there? If so I'd hurry up and put one in. Quote
5speedz34 Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 The crossbraces don't do to much, it's not like your cars wheels are going to fall off. Quote
