streetdreams Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 I want to put some new plugs in this car because as mentioned its really out of shape. I'l bet these are the same plugs since like 1998 since I know the last 2 owners and how they are with cars. problem is I dont have alot of money and cant afford the wires right now. is it even worth it to change the plugs if I still have old ass wires in there??? and if so what plugs do you guys recommend? its a 2.8 and I hear theres nothin wrong with going with the standard delco plugs but if any of you have had good luck with others I'd like to know. thanx in advance Quote
Supreme Cutlass Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 Ahem...try searching first...I can't count how many times i've heard that question/ answer. Everyone typically gets the best results from the AC Delco rapid fires. Aftermarket wires have often turned out lower test results than OEM. Just stick with the old ones unless they're in bad shape. gp90se Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 if you cant afford wires, might be time to stop driving for a while and save up. delco plugs, and autozone has $12 wires for 3.1s. do NOT use bosch plugs in it, there cheaper but ya will suffer in the long run. Quote
streetdreams Posted July 29, 2005 Author Report Posted July 29, 2005 I need to move by sept 1st and I only have a hundred dollars at the moment so thats why the wires have to wait. its not a matter of I cant grasp 12 bucks lmao so those cheap wires are decent quality??? Quote
GP1138 Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 I honestly wouldn't buy anything but AC Delco wires, you don't want to mess around with them. I actually picked up a set of AC's for $5, they looked brand new, at the junkyard. Working great so far! Quote
gp90se Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 they will give you a good 6 months-year, but thats about it Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 I still have the original wires that came with the car  But they still work good. Although Ill have to replace them next tune up. AC Delco works the best in GM cars. I use nothing but them. Depending on what type of Delco plugs you get, youll be able to get Delco wires with tha hundo that you gots. Quote
