dsgrntld187 Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 I have a 1991 Buick Regal with the 3.8 V6 and it will sputter and cut out at highway and sometimes die in nuetral or when slowing down at a stop sign or pulling in somewhere. It accelerates fine. It only has 66,000 miles on it compression is good, vacuum is a steady 18 hg, I replaced coil packs, the ICM the base of the coil pack, O2 sensors, coolant temerature sensor, and fuel filter. I don't have a clue from here except maybe a loose worn timing chain. HELP!!! If you have had this problem or know what it may be help would be appreciated. Thanks I have a 92 regal that does something like that, if the tach starts going crazy and then stalls, it might be your cam sensor. I had cam sensor replaced and the icm. Okay, that was what my friend said she found online while looking for people with similar problems. The problem with her car is exact same as both of them have. Sputtering, stalling, tach going crazy. Is the 2nd guy right saying it could be the cam sensor? Quote
GP1138 Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 Yeah, I had that going on, too, but it was my crank sensor wiring. If the crank sensor is failing I'd assume it'd be like that too. Quote
