fastbird232
Found it just behind the weather stripping on the top lip of the firewall. There was an electrical connector on the very bottom the ended in a cut wire. Thing is, when you press on the top plunger, the whole inside moved; i.e., there doesn't appear to be any contact point on it, the whole thing moves. Anyway, I pulled it off because a) it doesn't appear to be doing anything, and the weather stripping has to go around it, go it's not sealing well. So...what is it? Justin
It's a hood switch for an aftermarket alarm system or remote starter. Since the wire was cut I'd imagine the entire shebang was removed.
Guest TurboSedan
some kind of door jamb switch?
fastbird232
Yeah, it's like a door jamb switch, but under the hood. Haven't seen any wiring that would indicate there was ever an alarm system or remote starter. But then again, I wasn't looking for any. Any way to tell? If you are going to find anything, it'll more than likely be under the dash inside the car.

I'd be surprised if you find anything under the dash, sounds like someone removed whatever it was in a rush and left the switch.
