millerwl71
I did a rear brake job on my 92 Z34. After I was done I was backing it out of the garage and noticed that when I put it in reverse it seemed that the back brakes where holding on and it did not want to move freely. I gave it some gas and it went, with resistance. I puilled it back in and jacked up the car to see if the wheels were moving freely, and the were. So I just went home with the car. On the way home I noticed a vibration. If I would accelrate easy it would vibrate between 1st and 2nd shift. It shakes the front end. But if I take off quickly it shifts no problem. I still have that reverse thing too. I droped it off to get it checked, but I don't want to get screwed. Like I need a new trans instead of just a selonoid or something. Need Help. Thanks. millerwl71
Well i did a transmission change and filter. It seemed to do the trick going forward. Once in a while I will get the feeling of going over railroad tracks when it shifts from 1st to 2nd. I still have the problem with reverse. When I put it into reverse and try backing up it feels like somethings holding me back. I have to give it extra gas just to move. I want to take it in, but want to see if anyone had this problem before the shop screws me.
jeremy
For the going in reverse issue I would check the rear brakes again only because it happened immediately after you worked on them. Sounds like something it catching while going backwards.
millerwl71
I checked the brakes and it looks good. It just feels like it's binding in reverse.
