GP1138
Does anyone have any idea whether or not '01 3400 injectors have a different flow rate than '95 3100 injectors? In continuing to chase down the problem with my Grand Prix, I'm really wondering if there's an injector short going on, and I'm thinking about splicing the 3400 injectors and fuel rail in place of my 3100's originals. Robby1870
Im gonna guess that they do, given the larger displacement and larger intake valve on the 3400. I dont know for sure, but it would make sense that the 3400 would have a higher flow rate.
GP1138
I just don't wanna kill my fuel pump.
Robby1870
have you checked cross referenced the part numbers for a fuel pump from say a 01 Grand Am and your car?
GP1138
 Good idea!
GP1138
 Well, the fuel pump for my car is $67, and for an '01 Alero/Grand Am it's $229!!

GP1138
Damn, well I guess I'll just have to try something else. Thanks a lot, Robby!
Robby1870
no problem man! I dont think they would hurt your pump, but it'll make it run rich....although Aaron thinks otherwise.
slick
I had thought you were running your 3100 injectors as it was. If I were you, I would go ahead and swap all that onto your car. It will probably run just a bit smoother.
GP1138
I was running 3100 injectors. Although all this is moot now, check my "Sputtering, Missing and Dying" thread for the conclusion to the misfire problem!!!
