toastemcutlass
so there is this noise that occurs only twice after sitting 20mins or so, the first time I take off and come to a stop I hear and feel a clunk, the first one comes from the back of the car and the second time i hit the brakes i sounds like from the front, after this I will not make this noise again until the car sits for 20 mins or so. could this be some thing with the calipers? freezing up? any suggestions would help, its to cold to go out and just try to figure the prob. thax in advance
jesse
I have had similar noises come from my `94 olds. After messing with it too much I spent the extra dollars and had the brakes replaced with rebuilt calipers. This year is known for stuck calipers. Let your wheels get dirty, and compare the amounts of brake dust on them, this will help verify caliper problems. Stuck calipers will lead to more wear, will ussually be on the inside, that you cannot readily see. And will sometimes lead to a HONING noise when breaking, like the vibration that comes from a truck when it brakes. This is caused by pressure being applied from only one side of the caliper. Don't skimp when it comes to brakes.
mfewtrail
maybe the mono leaf, mine made popping noises that seemed to be in the front when it went bad, plus my car was slight sagging in the rear.
