JakeMetz63 Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 Hopefully I should be getting a relatively new LQ1 in the next few days, and I was wondering what people reccomend to do for preventive measures? Is there possible problems down the line that would be easy to fix before the engine is in the car? Like the O-ring that leaks oil, is there one that I can replace it with that wont leak? Since the engine is out now, I wont have to pull it later to take the cyl heads off.... things like that. Thanks Jake Quote
solid_raiden223 Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 O-ring, Timing belt, Water pump, valve springs...depening on miliage, alt. to list a few things Quote
gp90se Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 just as solid said, o-ring if its got over 50k on it, take the alternator to autozone and have them test it (free), waterpump is easy when the motors in, i do the plugs because there easy, I relocated my alternator to where the AC compressor was, but other then that, it pops right in. good luck Quote
