My Lumina isn't hitting on all six cylinders. I pulled the front three plugs, and they seemed to look okay. Is pulling and replacing the rear spark plugs as easy as rolling the engine forward and removing the plugs?

If new spark plugs do not correct the problem, would the only other possible problems be wires or the coil pack?

what motor? If its a 3.1L, I always pull the alternator too, I have big hands and arms

reaching the rest of the 3 plugs, isnt very difficult, u shouldt have a problem. As for misfireing, yes the plugs and wires should be causing the problem, if the problem continues then check the coil. I had a mazda mx-6 v-6 dohc, i was only running in 4 pistons, 2 and 2 on each side, the car still rached 135 mph for some reason  after i changed the plugs and wires, perfrmance was way way better, and i reached 135 way faster.

Take the weatherstripping off right above the rear spark plugs, and make cuts in the metal. Then take about 3 extensions along with your spark plug socket, duct tape them together, and go at it.

I think theres an actual tool for pulling the motor ahead.

It's a hooked threaded rod that passed through what looks like a half of a dogbone.

The threaded rod on the back of the dogbone has a bolt that pulls the rod through the halfdogbone and in effect pulls the engine forward.

disconnect the dogbone and pull the weatherstripping, easy as cake.

How do I change spark plugs?"

hammer and duct tape

suggestion, little antiseize on te plug threads, makes like a whole lot easyer next time

anyone know the exact spark plug # for the ac delco rapid fire #8's???

also, what gap should they be?

The gap should be about .40"

About rolling the engine forward, I've known alot of 3.4 owners and I have never seen this done. I think it works if you have old lower engine mounts.

About the rear plugs, I just pull off the weatherstripping and get a bunch of extensions and U-joints and you should be able to do it.

With my 96 intake though I'm going to have to pull the intake off I guess.

Disconnect the middle part of the front motor mount, and use a ratchet strap to pull the whole engine forward slightly. Thats how ive done mine.
