Supreme Cutlass Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 I'm trying to install my new UB3 cluster, but I can't get the pins to come out.. any advice? pics would be nice, too.. Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 a jewelers or eyeglass screwdriver. a needle will work fine too. there is a small hole on the plug side (not the wire side) that you insert the needle into to depress the tab. gently pull/wiggle on the wire while you do this and it should slide right out. Supreme Cutlass Posted July 19, 2005 Author Report Posted July 19, 2005 Well, the gauges light up, everything that's supposed to work (haven't put in senders yet) is working, except my RPM's aren't coming up... what's up? Edit: I found this via a little searching: "The Tacho needs to be run from the orange ALDL connector.. THen it will work" how do I do that? I assume that the male end is the four prong connection on the back of the cluster, but where is the female end? Quote
stockgp Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 what four prong connection are you takling about? you need to run a wire from the aldl to pin c13 on your male cluster connector. Quote
stockgp Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 and fyi, in case you didn't already know, you culd have saved yourself all that work...( shameless plug) http://www.w-body.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31378 Quote

Jcrow Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 A safety pin works good to take the pins out of connectors Quote
Supreme Cutlass Posted July 20, 2005 Author Report Posted July 20, 2005 I found that a dull sewing needle or a paper clip with about 1/8" bent backwards works well too. Quote
